<p class="Paragraph">You can transfer text into other document types such as spreadsheets and presentations. We make a distinction depending on whether the text should be set in its own text frame or whether it should be transferred into a spreadsheet cell or into the structure of a presentation.</p>

<p class="P2">If you transfer text via the clipboard, you can paste it to the destination with or without text attributes. Use the shortcut keys <help:switch select="System" xmlns:help="http://openoffice.org/2000/help"><help:case select="MAC">(Command)</help:case><help:default>(Ctrl)</help:default></help:switch>(C) to copy and <help:switch select="System" xmlns:help="http://openoffice.org/2000/help"><help:case select="MAC">(Command)</help:case><help:default>(Ctrl)</help:default></help:switch>(V) to paste.</p>
<p class="Paragraph">To select the format in which the clipboard contents will be pasted, do a long click on the <span class="T1">Paste</span> icon on the function bar. Select the format from the submenu.</p>

<p class="P2">To obtain a selection of formats, choose <span class="T1">Edit - Paste Special</span>.</p>

<p class="P2">In a text document you will find in the <span class="T1"><text:s text:c="" xmlns:text="http://openoffice.org/2000/text"/>File</span> menu the command <span class="T1">Send - Outline to presentation</span>. A new presentation document is created, that contains the headings from the text document as the outline. You must have formatted the headings with a corresponding Paragraph Style to be able to see this command.</p>

<p class="P2">If you want to also transfer the same headings to the first superordinate paragraph (or several paragraphs) of the text, then select the <span class="T1">AutoAbstract to presentation</span> command. <p class="P3">If you select a text section and drag it into a spreadsheet with drag & drop, it will be inserted as text into the cell where you release the mouse.</p>

<p class="P3">If you drag a text section to the character view of a presentation, an OLE object is inserted as a <help:productname xmlns:help="http://openoffice.org/2000/help">%PRODUCTNAME</help:productname> plugin.</p>

<p class="P3">If you drag the text to the outline view of a presentation, it will be inserted where the cursor is.</p>
